  • Calligraphy and painting exhibition : the artist Amalie-Léo shows her works from 01st to 07th August 2009 in her workshop at Plaine-des-Cafres, on La Diligence site.
  • Painting exhibition : To be visited from April 18th to May 18th 2009 at the restaurant Le Panoramic next to the hotel.
  • MIEL VERT : At laPlaine-des-Cafres from 09th to 18th.01.2009. Don't forget to reserve your room !
  • 21.10.2008 : Following the end of the last eruption, the area of the volcano is now opened but is still under monitoring. For reminder, the access at the top of the Dolomieu is still forbidden.
  • 22.09.2008 : ERUPTION ! After the previous sismic periods, the volcano finally entered in action on 21th.09.2008, in the afternoon. The lava flows in the Dolomieu, at midrange beneath the Bory crater. No hiking possible.

  • Reunion : a French tropical island in the Indian Ocean

Reunion Island is located between Madagascar and Mauritius Island. This mainly mountainous island offers a great show with its landscapes and beautiful green reliefs, with its three Circus and its famous volcano : the Piton de La Fournaise.

  • Hotel Ecrin : a strategic site

Hotel Ecrin stands in the area of La Plaine-des-Cafres, at Bourg-Murat (27th kilometer after Le Tampon town), in the southern high lands of Reunion Island, 150 m away from the Museum of the Volcano.
Bourg-Murat is the lastest village from where you can take the road by car or the GR-R2 by foot to the Piton de la Fournaise.
It is also the starting point to the hikes of Piton des Neiges, Grand-Bassin, the botanical path of Notre-Dame de La Paix, ...
